Have you ever bought a piece of art? (this is two posts!)

If so, where? What drew you to it? If you hung it or placed it, where did you put it?

I have a reprint of something I got from a friend after he passed. I've loved it and have always had it hung wherever I've lived, and recently considered getting it reframed before I move again.

Chapter 4:

"Fragments" was the word Michael used when he was describing someones piece. Because in our assignment we were told to somehow portray movement of time, some kind of motion, "fragment" was exactly the right word. The Stewart text reflects here on page 103:

"As an object moves, ist sequentially occupies various positions in space. Visual fragmentation can be used to simulate this effect in art." There was an example of a painting I really liked called Frieze of Dancers by Edgar Degas. This painting mirrors a lot of his photography too, and his interest in "human and animal locomotion".
